Nepal is in South Asia in between India on the South, East and West, and the Autonomous Region of Tibet in the People's Republic of China on the North.
We work in Lalitpur, in the Kathmandu Valley, and also in Sundhulpachowk District.
Sindhulpachowk District was especially severely hit by the earthquakes, with very high numbers of dead and extreme levels of property damage.
Sindhupalchok District is a beautiful area which is isolated by its rough terrain.
It is a place of magnificent forested river valleys with rocky river beds in the dry season, or rushing rivers in the springtime, which carry the Himalayan snow melt down to the Ganges River Plain.
Transportation in the area involves trekking on steep mountain pathways and crossing dizzying suspension- style foot bridges over narrow river valleys.
Travel is therefore very slow, which creates the isolation of the villages, where people live in the traditional ways they have for centuries.
In the Kathmandu Valley, we feed an entire orphanage of 30 children and their two volunteer caretakers, in the city of Lalitpur.

We have just helped Community Service of Nepal contract with the Nepal Government, to teach HIgh-Yield Organic Vegetable Farming on very small plots of land to at least 180 households in the city of Lalitpur.
The final group to go through the program will be introduced to organic fish farming.
