Our Team organized in Nepal

Madhav Bhandari

Nepal Operations Director

Madhav Bhandari is a member of the board in the USA, while working remotely over the internet; but he does his work overseeing all of our operations in Nepal. Madhav has a university degree in commerce, and has worked as an accountant in addition to his partnership in a travel and tourism business which has dedicated 25% of the profits to his social work. He oversees the use of all the funds we send to Nepal, to ensure they are spent in the most economical way possible to bring about the biggest social change that can be achieved with our resources. Madhav has spent his lifetime helping his people, and being a part of ACHIEVE! Nepal is just the next step in his journey. The Vision of the organization, which is to help bring about a "peaceful, prosperous and independent Nepal that is a respected member of the world community” is directly inspired by Madhav's vision for his people.

Anjula Budhathoki RN

Anjula Budhathoki is the only other member of our team in Nepal who is also a member of the board in the USA via the internet. We are very proud of her hard work to become a Baccalaureate RN and her enthusiasm for improving the Public Health of the people of Nepal. Anjula is not a member of the board of Community Service of Nepal, although she does coordinate her efforts with that part of our team.

The Board of Community Service of Nepal

Community Service of Nepal is a Government Registered nonprofit formed in Nepal by Nepali citizens. It is authorized to receive international donations to support its work. Due to Nepali Law, all international nonprofits may only work within the borders of Nepal through such a Nepali organization. Madhav Bhandari is the founder of this organization, but he has given up his voting rights there, in order to avoid any possible conflict of interest between the two organizations. Community Service of Nepal was founded in 2014, a year before the earthquakes, and has five social workers on the board, which is comprised mostly of women in order to help focus on empowering women through its work. This organization must undergo an independent audit each year as part of its re-registration process. It is a very professional organization, and we are honored to be able to work together with Community Service of Nepal on a project-specific basis.
